I was looking forward to this game but was I ever dissapointed. I thought these poker games could only get better, was I wrong. The graphics are horrible and the gameplay is extremly slow and there is no way to speed it up. Save your money and use it to play poker for real, you will have much more fun.

How hard is it to make a good poker game? This game got a fairly positive review from XBOX Magazine, so I decided to get it.
Pros
1. It has online play
2. Create a character has depth (BUT YOU CAN’T NAME HIM??? WHAT THE…)
3. The players are unpredictable at least…
4. Lots of tutorials, game types, etc. This is the best feature. It has unlimited lasting-time.
5. You can skip hands when you fold, and that speeds things up dramatically.
6. Creative Player Names
Cons
1. Atrocious graphics. It shames the XBOX name. The players always have their mouths open and look like they’ve seen a ghost frequently. A aggravating sidenote: All the women are old and fat. Further, there seems to be an unproportional number of African American’s compared to everyone else. I haven’t seen one latino, one Asian, but 3/5 of the people are African American. Strange.
2. The facial expression thing (controlled by the right thumbstick) is pointless.
3. Players bluff far too much and are too content to call your all-in with 23 and win against AK (I Hate “Ken U Diggett”).
4. Game creation mode is very weak. Basically you combine elements of other games. I created “Scottum” and it is no limit Hi-Lo Omaha with deuces wild. That’s about as creative as you can get… and that’s not very creative.
5. Biggest Flaw- Half the hands end up with 2 players checking until the river.
6. There’s about 3 different voice types for each gender so you here 2 guys saying “hmmm… check” in the same voice over and over again.
Random Aggravations;
1. When a player folds before the flop, sometimes they say “I think you have me beat, I fold”. Who has you beat? Nobody raised.
2. Other tables seem to have wild action compared to yours. I have a nice healthy stack of 3000 and I’m winning the table. All of a sudden “Marsha Mello” joins the table and has 7500 and steals all the pots.
3. I still can’t get over the fact that I can’t name my player.
4. Players chip stacks don’t look different from each other
5. When a player puts chips into the put (to call or raise), the chips disappear. Not to mention the horrible graphic of the player seeming to levitate the chips into his/her palm.
6. I always lose all-ins even though I almost always have the best hand. Maybe the AI gets a luck advantage because some of them don’t know what they’re doing, although some players are very good.
7. The big blind always calls your pre-flop raise unless it’s more than half of their chips… no matter what they have.
3 stars because it’s better than all the other poker games. Abundance of game types is great, and the gameplay isn’t THAT bad. I just wish the AI would be smarter (and my QQ not to lose to KQ 90% of the time)

I originally bought this game just to have a poker game to play online with the XBox. I didn’t have any high expectations, and 2KSports certainly didn’t disappoint. The graphics are uninspired, the commentary is repetitive and cheesy, and the game play is only so-so. There is no AI…..the computer seems to just play according to a set of rules based on certain conditions. It doesn’t study your play and adapt to it, so even the gameplay gets a little boring. But once you play on XBox Live, that’s when the headaches really begin. First of all, there are no tournaments or leagues to play in. Just sit down at a table and play. There’s nothing to really shoot for, no goals to set, except for fattening your bankroll, and you get nothing for doing that. There are also several glitches in the online play….you cannot be assured that your winnings at any given table will be banked. The next time you play, you’ve got a better than average chance of your previous winnings being gone. There are also some serious connectivity issues. There’s nothing like having pocket rockets, going all-in pre-flop and then the game locks up and boots everyone. And it’s not just an isolated incident….it happens very frequently. Check out the forums at 2KSports’ website….you’ll see that there a quite a few people there that have been having these and other problems.

I don’t know who you are Scott, but everything you said in your review is 100% correct and accurate about World Poker Tour. My friend and I have been saying those exact same things you mentioned for about 6 months now. Also, how hard IS it to make a good looking poker game? There is not that much going on in the background, and it seems like that would be a really simple thing to do. Plus, anybody who knows how to play poker with any amount of skill knows that there is no way you would play 3/4 of those joke show hands in real life at a poker table. I just want a good, solid REALISTIC poker game to come out that is fun and challenging.

This Is Way Better than the World Series Of Poker Game
You can play as any of the WPT Pros But in WSOP You Have to create your own player and on WPT you can play in real casinos but in WSOP you can only play in one.
WPT is the best poker game you can buy A Age 14
