I dont understand the rash of 5 star ratings here. Tiger Woods moves great in this thing and his swing is as good as it could be but the graphics are weak. When you look off into the horzon, everything is blurred and is “flowing” around the borders of objects. You cant even see where you are hitting your ball when lining up to hit because of the blurriness of objects. Also, when you are putting, again, you cant even tell if your ball is heading towards the hole and how far away it is because the graphics are so poor. This isnt very good folks.

I ordered Tiger Woods PGA Tour from Babk Nabati through Amazon.com. I previously placed a review with Amazon.com about this game, and getting the game in the wrong format. I did not give a real good review. I was to hasty in this review. I thought I had ordered this game in the PS2 format. I did not. I accidently ordered the XBOX format. Babak Nabati has been very helpfull in getting the PS2 game to me. They should get 5 stars not 2. I should have ordered the correct format.

This is a great game it has great graphics, great gameplay, and many different golfers and courses to choose from. If you have an Xbox this is a game you should definitely get.

I already posted one review and now after playing the game to completion I have to add a few more points.
This game plays you.
This is a good golf game but I am giving you my list of pet peaves with this game.
1. Two shots under the same circumstances have different outcomes if they want the computer to win because you are at a higher difficulty level. This is frustrating.
2. Players hearts beat if they get close to the pin and there is no way to disable this. Action slows down and can be really frustrating when playing a 4 person tourny or skins game. There is no way to move through them without watching them each hit the ball and watching the ball come to rest. You can ‘fast-foward’ it but that isnt good enough.
3. Background graphics are poor. One of the joys of playing golf should be enjoying the scenery. A few of the courses are neat and have some good detail but most do not.
4. Your caddy gives your yards & feet to measure putts with one problem – there is no way to scale down what a foot or inch is especially on longer putts. Worse yet he is wrong many times but there is no way to make the determination yourself. I tried to double the caddy’s yardage recommendation every hole because listening to him you will leave you short. I suppose this probably makes it more like real golf except you have a better frame of reference in real golf. See number 1 – you leave putts short as if you were supposed to be able to tell inches and feet.
5. There is no guage for tigers swing power. You have to eyeball his arms but your opponents that you play in higher levels land within 2 ft of the pin every shot. This is a major problem on shots where you cant hit a club full power (and use the club for a yardage guage) but have to hit 25%-75% of a club.
6. Menu’s are convoluted and dont flow well.
7. Opponents are unrealistically good and so are you. I realize its a game and it needs to be fun but you can beat your opponent in yardage every shot up until your approach. Given the lack of detail provided for shots into the green the opponents always get as close if not closer from twice as far out. This leaves you no reward for outplaying our opponent 4 out of 5 shots.
8. Players get breaks that you do not and it gets worse as difficulty increases. When my ball landed in rough it stuck – the CPU players will frequently bounce 25 yards farther and come out of the rough.
9. The game is programmed to keep you at a set level of difficulty – nothing else matters. Your caddy will lie to you if you are doing well so that a tougher opponent can win. You beat him by playing him multiple times – the more you play a particular opponent the more he plays realistically – you dont need to get any better – just lose to an opponent 3 times and he is suddenly beatable.
10. Good plays mean nothing because the data you are given for a shot if you are winning is not accurate or the game is cheating, to make it a ‘challenge’ – take your pick. You can listen to your caddy unless you are winning in pressure situations at higher levels – then you are half-way short – amazing. So what are you supposed to listen to – you can read greens and the info they give you is wrong although it doesnt matter – if your opponent needs to win you will end up short, long, etc. Hidden in the ambiguity of lack of real information.
11. If you use wind, club and yardage for a shot (the only tools you are given) when you are doing expect different results. I dont care if you are 140yrds out with calm conditions. If you hit the ball 140yrds you will end up 15 yards short if there is anything riding on it however under different circumstances it will be on the green. Are they trying to make mistakes for you? It must be ‘IN THE GAME!’.
12. You cant forsee undulations of the green – but your opponents obviously can. They can put drivers into the greens from double the yardage you are at consistently better than your irons and no matter how the green tilts.
Dont like this game unless you like to have your play predetermined. This game is aweful and the most frustrating game I have ever played. If they acheived one thing comparable to real golf it is frustration. Watching opponents hit shots off the back of rock formations that bounce closer to the hole than yours because you are doing well is going to far.
I wish I had never played this game – it makes you realize the true lack of programming ingenuity they had.
