Play as your favorite NCAA college football teams. Take your favorite school to the National Title.Amazon.com Review
Football junkies have long been accustomed to loving gridiron video games while tolerating their weaknesses. We appreciate the fact that developers try to incorporate genuine college or pro atmospheres into the games, but it drives us nuts when the fight songs are incorrect, the out patterns are automatic, or the running game is unrealistically easy or hard. But then along comes NCAA Football 2003 by EA Sports, a game so good that after a few weeks, even your dog will wonder why you never find the time to communicate anymore. Start with the AI--by far the best yet in a college game. Defenses not only react to your play calling and adjust their strategies as the game evolves, but they expertly disguise their coverages and swarm to the ball with speed and decisiveness. In addition, your computer opponent... More >>

This game stinks. I played it at my cuz’s and it wasnt very good
Rating: 2 / 5
I’ll be brief since this game is NOT worth wasting much time on.
Short Version:
If you have ever played any other football game on any other platform this one will probably disappoint.
This is the worst football game ever (on any platform, going back to 1981)
This is the worst XBOX game that I’ve seen.
Graphics = D
worst of any XBOX football game, even last years madden for the PC was much better. Truely disappointing. For example the goal posts don’t look like poles, but a stack of poorly aligned Lego blocks (very bad jaggies)
Sound = C+
so-so. Nothing special, nothing horrible. Very few choices and very redundent after 5 mins.
Features = F
Missing even simple things. You can not review your roster, or set your starters. There is no coach-mode, only arcade play. Doesn’t even pretend to be a sim.
Supposedly you can import players from this game into Madden 2003, but what would be the point when the players in this game do not have any names? And don’t seem to be based on actual players?
Gameplay = F
VERY VERY VERY BAD. Play last years NFL Fever 2002 for an example of how an arcade football game should play, or last years Madden 2002 for the PC for an example of how a strategy football game should play (or if you want, try an oldie called Front Page Sports FootBall Pro for even a better example of a strategy football sim).

Loved ncaa 2002 for ps2 and this is even better. I will play this game everyday until 2004 comes out. Just so much fun. I can’t wait to recruit a qb for my terps team.

Don’t believe me? Take a stroll over to the NCAA 2003 message board at EA Sports’ website and examine the multiple discussions over the XBox version both freezing and resulting in “disc dirty/damaged” errors during saving/loading.
Coulda been a great game. If not for a little thing called “quality control.”

I like the game, but I feel as though I have made the wrong choice.
This game is a simulation game – in other words – realistic things happen and you will have realistic stats after each game. This is not my cup of tea. I like the huge plays, the 12 sacks per game, and 500+ passing yards per game. This is what I believe the 2K3 version offers, the could never happen side of football. That is what I find fun.
Back to this game. The graphics did not impress me that much. I read all of the hype and was expecting more. The graphics are not that much of an improvement over graphics that were introduced in the dreamcast era.
I was a little dissapointed that they have the Duke mascot and not NCSU’s wolfie – hey! Duke has not won one single football game in almost 3 years why did you put that crummy mascot in?
There is a general inability to return the ball on a punt. THere is no halo penalty, and the defenders will line up right next to you. When you catch the ball you will lose a few yards each and every time unless you choose punt block instead of punt return??????
You also get tackled very easily. Bump into someone? Then you’ll go down. I kind of liked the 2K series indefinite tackle defelct. Oh well.
This is a good game and I do think it is worthy. Listed are the only flaws I could find. I do advise that you wait and see what sega has to offer before rushing into this title.
