NBA 2K3

Product Description
NBA 2K3 powers forward with the kind of improvement that only results from a dedication to perfection. Imagine jump shots so real players actually adjust their movement in midair based on distance from the hoop and defensive pressure; a passing touch that gives you the control to skirt a defender or start a fast break; and dribble moves that let you jab left, rock right, crossover, and spin. It all happens in NBA 2K3. No other game delivers the physical element of basketball like this. The game offers accurate impact from collisions, especially hard fouls and authoritative dunks; shot blocking with emphasis on precise hand-to-ball contact; and the ability to lunge for the loose ball, even if it means ending up on some celebrity's lap. With commentators that analyze strategy, cut scenes portraying lifelike player interaction, uniforms that move like real fabric, and a brand new ESPN broadcast system that wraps it all together, NBA 2K3 provides the complete ... NBA 2K2 was considered ahead of it’s time. NBA 2K3 is really gonna be awesome, it’s gonna have Xbox LIVE enabled, and it just comes out right before Xbox life is launched in November. I highly recommend this game to NBA fans and every xbox owner as well. It’s also gonna have the ESPN presentation that was tested for NFL 2K3 (it’s really awesome too, you need to get it, IT’S OUT NOW!!!). It also have an advanced animation system
Advanced Animation System — Players move naturally and appear more dynamic with increased facial detail and lifelike expressions. Visit the Sega sports website to see their review.

The reason i bought this game was beause of all the great reviews from here and game web sites. All i hear was it’s the best B-ball sim out there. Well that’s a bunch of BS. I don’t know how many times playing as kobe, Shaq, Iverson etc.. i’ve gotten my shot blocked (even on fade aways) by a bench player. As shaq i get a miss match with a 6foot guard so i try backing him down and well i can’t. It seems shaq isn’t strong enough to plow his way through a 6 footer lol. And when i make him spin to the basket then press shoot 9 times out of 10 he doesn’t go for the dunk instead he throws up some off balance, fade away crazy looking shot. The gameplay is challenging but not in a good way. I guess i will try “NBA Live”.

I just read the reviews for this game and I just don’t see the fun in playing it.I will say that the graphics and intros are nice, that’s what the one star is for.I’ve given this game many tries to convince me,but it always disappoints.Shooting, passing and driving are just not happening.NBA LIVE 2003 hits the mark for easy gameplay and you can’t beat the original free style option, but that’s just my opinion. After renting both games,LIVE 2003 came out the winner,so I bought it.The rest is a waste of time and money.

NBA 2K3 is still the most realistic bball simulation out there. If you like arcade action, get Live, but if you enjoy strategy and actually fighting for a good shot, this is your game.
THE GOOD: Amazing depth. Great franchise mode, tons of customizable options (AI, camera angles, almost anything that happens on court can be tweaked). The graphics are solid, as is the control and the sound. Tons of replay value, a very realistic ball game.
THE BAD: The passing game is atrocious. Players will often lob passes to a team mate that’s 5 feet away, and forget about running a fast break–players tend to stop when catching a pass. The opposing team still shoots a very high FG%, and the opposing PG will usually torch you for 30 pts. I also dislike the lack of realism in dunks, since I once saw the CPU pull of a 360 jam in traffic on a 7foot center with… 40 year old, 6-ft John Stockton. Players also tend to lose their dribble when attempting a juke, which is annoying.
THE UGLY: the commentators often say the wrong things, like “Great three point basket!” after you nail a dunk. The menus aren’t intuitive at first, and the shameless ESPN plugs are REALLY annoying. I don’t need to be reminded to watch Sportscenter, thank you very much.
