My daughter wanted this game as you didn’t need the balance board and she loves skateboard games.
You *can* conceivably play the game without the balance board, but forget about it. She is a great gamer, but it is way too hard without the balance board.
She is going to get the balance board one day, but the game doesn’t impress her enough to make the purchase now.

This game is so hard! We haven’t spent a lot of time with it yet but just doing the tutorial, my 5 year old has broken almost evey bone in his character’s body. I think we’d like it more if we knew how to skateboard. This is a much better game for older kids or teenagers.

Skate was difficult to use and not responsive to the board. Although the graphics are good, I found it pretty lame overall. At $[...] it should be much better.

This involved actually moving around to skateboard so way more interactive. I can’t wait till the next one comes out!
