I’m a huge fan of the Rock Band franchise – I’ve spent hours and hours playing RB1 with friends. With that being said – I picked up the special edition for PS3 today, brought it home – and the drums were faulty out of the box. Alot of other people are experiencing these same issues (see them @ youtube & the official rock band forums)
1. The green pad constantly triggers on its own (VERY annoying)
2. cross talk is occuring (two pads registering when it should only be one)
3. blue tom only triggers when you hit it EXACTLY in the center
4. drums shut off *completely* during gameplay.
Avoid purchasing this set until Harmonix gets their act together and fixes the hardware!

Great selection of songs.
Online play is good.
downsides: graphics are the same, new modes?… and PIECE OF $*%& DRUM SET! it’s been 4 months and EA still hasn’t sent the new ones!!!!!!

i bought the game and it is very good not happy with all the money they suck out of you from the online stuff but the game by itself is great. the guitar and drums are wireless not too happy with it. they fixed all the old problems from the last gen guitar and drum but created new problems. i am not too happy with the auto off feature it get old really fast. now this may be just mu guitar but the one i got has a big problem with the shake feature. it works like crap. there are times when i could hold the guitar in the air for a whole song and it wont activate. and at times it works great. very annoing. and the wirelees connection needs to be worked on it just cuts in and out sometimes. mostly with the drums. if i had any advice i would wait untill they make a new set of everything and buy that maybe by then they will solve these new problems.
p.s. make a wireless mic. lol.

I love rocking out on the guitar, my gf is killer on the drums, we have a lotta fun playing

I bought this one specially for the possibility of using the battery’s cymbals. Any other way RB’s 1 battery is good enough. When I finally get mine, it was so disappointing to find that they don’t work properly with left handed mode.
So, what a waste. It’s unbelievable that this still happens. So 20 minutes after trying it, I decided to sell both RB 2 and the cymbals.
By the way, it’s absurd to play with the cymbals, since you can hit either the cymbal or the drum, and any way it’s correct, so no effort is required. I hate to say this, but Guitar Hero’s battery is more realistic.
