Worth $[...] to kill some time with multi-player playability. Simple to learn
Worth only $[...] if just trying to enjoy the game by oneself.

This game is pretty fun. If you like zombie movies, then you’ll probably enjoy this game on some level. It’s not a scary Resident Evil style game, but it fills all your horror cravings for the PS3 in a more lighthearted sort of way. The PS3, quite frankly, doesn’t have very many good games out yet, so I would say that this is one of the most fun ones that I’ve played so far. You also can’t beat the low price.

The reasons why I bought the game were because 4 people could play and that it was under $20.00. I thought it would be a monster killing, zombie bashing game that wouldn’t take more than a couple of hours to finish.
Boy was I wrong.
It is in fact a monster killing, zombie bashing game. However, it took us (2 players) 8-9 hours of continuous play in order to finish it.
The story is akin to those of zombie movies: The evil undead arise and a rag-tag team of teenagers are amongst the few who can fight against them. As the game advances, other type of monsters appear. Aliens, werewolves, demons and B movies cannon fodder.
There are cutscenes between missions, which help the story advance and at least let you know why you’re actually walking into the wolve’s den.
Gameplay is simple. You choose a character and proceed to kick evil butt in isometric view. Each character has a “reccomended” melee weapon hidden in each scene. If you get on that isn’t suited to your character, he/she complaints and attacks slower with it. You can also buy and upgrade other “home made” weapons, like nail guns, flame-throwers and CD Launchers. They use ammo though, and you’ll have to buy that too with crystals left by monsters when they are destroyed.
There are scenes in which you can ride a tank, buggy or hovercraft. Some have some kind of weapon, like a cannon or a machine gun. Others will just be used for transportation.
There are also in-game achievements. For example, if you find the weapon for a character during a mission, you’ll discover a new suit/disguise for that character.
One of the downsides of the game (from my POV) is that the main characters are practically immortal. What happens after losing 3 lives is that you drop some of the crystals used to upgrade weapons/buy ammo and start again exactly where you died (I think you can choose another character, but I could be wrong).
There’s also a versus option, in which you can just whack other players. It’s not Super Smash Bros, but it is rewarding being able to deal with a human opponent using a nail gun.
All in all, it’s not a bad game for $20.00 or less.

Monster Madness: Grave Danger is an excellent choice for multiple players. It’s kind of a top-down, fly-behind, 3 person, shooter & masher for 4 PLAYERS at once -on the same screen. None of that nauseating split screen nonesence that cut your screen realestate in half. A lot like Gauntlet.
If you’re like me -it’s difficult finding a “Party Game” for the PS3. A Party Game being a game that multiple people can play and have fun at the same time. There’s Rock Band (which is awsome), and then the rest are mostly fighting games for two players.
Parents may think twice about letting little ones play this because it’s a zombie-shooter with cartoonish gore. The gore however is minimal and the game is tounge in cheek cartoony.
As a single player game, i say 3 outta 5. It’s fun, but more fun with friends.

This game certainly won’t compete with Assassin’s Creed or Heavenly Sword, but it is a fun game. Though it does have nice clear cartoony graphics, it is a throwback game to old style hack and clash/brawlers. There is not a lot to think about or solve in the game, just fight your way through the zombies and monsters to unlock new areas. Basically if you bash everything you come across you can find parts for making new weapons and plenty of power ups to keep you going in the game. The story is deliberately silly and never really gets annoying. It was a fun game to pass the time, and at least they didn’t make it 60 bucks like most other ps3 games.
